Food and Friends…oh, and Christmas is coming.

Can there be any better combination than that? Throw in a few of your favourite relations and you have it made.

So why is it we get so worked up about preparing for a dinner party? We all know how it will end: wine over everything, a pile of dishes and a drunken friend saying/doing something inappropriate before everyone heads home to talk about.

I blame Downton Abbey.

Too many of us are hankering after that formal setting – white tablecloths, crystal decanters and too much cutlery on the table. Why? When the best dinner parties are the least formal in my humble opinion (especially if you don’t actually have a Carson). Christmas day is an excellent example. Less is definitely more with this Christmas table below:
